My first passenger was a bartender who wears bowties. Outgoing, outrageous and just so happened to be born in a refugee camp in Thailand, the country I am currently focused on in my travels, we were destined to meet. Quick to tease about it being all downhill after meeting him, I will always smile with that memory and just may pop into the De Anza hotel for a hello, a few drinks and to sneak into the pool.
Since this fantastic way to break into the scene, I’ve been offered hookups in India if/when I make it, invites out to the bars, bonding with another Burner (as in Burning Man) and the company of amazing people with amazing stories. Each one an individual that adds more to my life that only they can.
My biggest regret is not recording each one so I could remember. But it’s never too late to start, so here I am.
To my passengers, you have no idea how much happiness you bring into my life. This gig is so much more than money. It is a way to love, it is a way to laugh and it is a way to Lyft.
